FUUUN WEEKEND

whew i’m dead tired guys! but of course, my excitement meter doesn’t even level down one bit, i’ll tell you all about it! this past weekend was oozing with thrill, fun and enjoyment!

lookie this guys.

pretty?

aren’t these flowers pretty?:) we bought it for a really special friend of mine, her name is karla. to tell you something about her, i’ve known her since high school. i never thought we could be this close in just a span of 6 years. we started off as classmates, even in advanced math classes. had the same interests, sports, games, non-girly thingies, the next thing we knew, we were inseparable. we became “grand slam” buddies for being classmates for 4 consecutive years. we know each other’s scent, the way the other thinks and most of the time, our brains work similarly.

and we both know that we love each other to the brim, which is why i would never do anything to miss her special day, her 18th birthday celebration :)

being part of her barkada and a close friend to, we prepared a surprise for her. so i told her in the morning of her special day that i won’t make it to the party because of my parents and an educational trip scheduled the next day. the messages she sent me were touching and making me guilty at the same time. i felt her feeling bad because of what happened and she even constantly texted me before her party starts. but little does she know that something good’s gonna happen during her party :)

so finally when i arrived at the party, it was dinner time. our surprise was supposed to be scheduled before dinner so i could eat with my friends but i kinda lost track of time preparing my things for tomorrow’s trip so my parents rushed me to the party as fast as they could, i ended up waiting until the dinner’s done.

so what we did was we bought those 6 carnations of different colors and give them all to her, after all karla insisted she didn’t want to receive flowers because it was too girly. and because i know she won’t really want to do it, i’ll make her do it because it’s her 18th birthday. it was all my plan :)) so our plan was to enter the party and surprise her of my presence and play the song she likes the most. well as i remember, way back our 2nd year days, she loved that song and it makes her touchy. so to my luck, the emcees were also part of our barkada, it was easier to instruct the audio men and the whole flow of the program.

so the song “can i have this dance” from High School Musical 3 is the song i chose. mellow and touching. so finally when i heard the cue, i entered the venue with the carnations on my arms, along with regina, my other best friend with karla :) the moment the debutante saw me, she was pointing at me and her face really painted surprise, i never thought she’d fall for that trap again because i’ve told her our plans and surprises a bunch of times. and the highlight of this surprise was unexpected, karla cried. yes, she cried waterfalls. she hated me she said :P i expected her to tear up but to cry that hard? naaah, never crossed my mind, that’s why everyone felt tears on their eyes, even i did. good thing i was so strong, i held it back. my voice even broke while explaining to her our surprise.

so after that short intermission, the program proceeded, called out the 18’s, had games and of course, all night pictorial. and oh, there were lantern flying and it was so pretty, too bad there were roofs of other resorts blocking the view so i didn’t really appreciate it fully.

but too bad, i needed to go home at 12 midnight, much like cinderella, so i could prepare myself for the trip early in the morning so, for a short time after the program ended, i needed to leave. :(

but of course i enjoyed it so much, i even have a great picture with karla from the photobooth!:)

karla and me!

and of course, after the tiring and touching debut, next stop is beach trip with my coursemates to MATABUNGKAY, BATANGAS :D

matabungkay beach coastline

so for everyone’s info, the place we went to is the edge of the philippines. if waves were to splash us away from the island, we’ll be found in another country or so. :P this trip isn’t a liesure trip, but an educational one, for our bio150 subject, also called principles of ecology. we’re here to collect specimens, samples and data about marine life and some other thingies about ecology.

i’m with coursemates cyril, coleen, katrina, mau, telly and kim who are taking the same subject with me but part of another section, except for cyril who’s also my labmate. we decided to stick together throughout the trip so we rode the same bus and sat close together.

we left Los Banos almost 6 in the morning and arrived in Batangas at 9 or later. we immediately started the experiment so we could finish early and spend the rest of the remaining time to explore the island and have fun. the experiment was done per section so we stayed with our labmates. our lab class has fun people so no need to worry about that. we saw sea cucumbers, starfishes, brittle stars and  a whole lot more marine organisms, makes  me so ecstatic and amazed.

pretty looking sea grass

pretty spikey starfish
sea cucumbers!
and a family of Proteostars :D

and of course, who would miss taking PICTURES in the beach?:))

so the experiment didn’t really take long at all. when we were done after almost 2 hours, it was lunch time. we ate lunch per group by section and of course, our group was really prepared. we have lots of foods, both lunch, dessert and even drinks. unfortunately the other group had an accident and poured almost all of their food on the ground but luckily we had enough and shared some to them :)

so after lunch we went our separate ways and enjoyed the rest of the time roaming around the island.

i spent that time to bond with my batchmates and we took a lot of pictures, too bad they aren’t uploaded yet. i shall update this when the pictures are ready. we walked along the island, and rode paddle boats and snorkeled to observe corals and fishes on the beach. it was fun, full of laughs and smiles and pictures!

looking forward for another beach trip for another different subject and also a hiking trip for the same subject :D i love my course, and i love my friends more :D

and before i end my post, i should promote to everyone this!

mushroom burger!

it’s a healthy way to eat an unhealthy food! tastes much like burgers, even better but healthier and yummier!

yum!

for only 75 pesos you could enjoy a big chunk of mushroom burger with scrambled eggs, cheese and cucumbers! and it’s reaally delicious! there’s a branch located somewhere in tagaytay, it’s a must have when you visit tagaytay. just search for it on google, it’ll surely appear :P
